Movie night

Movie night last night at Camel and Z-Bot's. Things were pretty cool until Termite and her bitch-girl roommate show up about 11:30 with jello shots. Jesus H. Christ on a fucking crutch, that girl wouldn't leave me alone; I couldn't turn around without bumping into her. Ignoring her and hanging out on the porch with the smokers didn't work. At one point after she got drunk, the goddamned bitch even came up behind me, touched my hair and whispered something gruesome in my ear about what she wanted to do with it. I don't remember what. I don't want to remember what. Nobody touches my hair. I told her to get the fuck away from me which resulted in her staring drunkenly at me for a second, then giggling and telling me I was cute when I was angry. Bitch. Beecher can usually be relied upon to lech on her and drive her away, but due to his recent vow to lay off the women he wasn't any help.

On the bright side, Jason actually downed two jello shots. He might get drunk sometime before he graduates at this rate.

scorpions

Start the countdown for my DVD-R - the paternal unit's plonked down the plastic for it. Three months until it's mine.

I have started an experiment to prove what a bullshit class Software Engineering I is. I am attending almost every class, but I am not taking any notes or using the book at all. I still have an A+ average. This is having an unexpected but welcome side effect in that it is driving the TA insane. I think that she is under the impression that I am somehow cheating. I shall ponder this matter for a while - it would not do to be formally accused of cheating without being prepared to thoroughly defend myself.

There is currently an invasion of scorpions in my apartment. I have had words with the apartment manager about this, and he swears that Steps are Being Taken, but I have yet to see any evidence of that, and plenty of evidence of scorpions. I killed one the other day by dropping a heated iron on it. I didn't heat the iron especially for the scorpion, but I was using it for other reasons and it was readily at hand.

I was not completely accurate in the second paragraph above. I have indeed been using the Software Engineering book: it's come in quite handy for killing scorpions.

Beech, what *are* we going to do with you?

Apparently Beecher hasn't figured out that he can read my entries. This doesn't really bother me. It's not my fault he didn't see where I stated that I took my iron back from him after dropping him off the other night. This has, however, given me plenty of opportunity for amusement. Beecher's a bright guy in general but he still hasn't picked up the clues I've been dropping about the iron. It's almost annoying.

Speaking of annoying, the parental units called me this afternoon. They are apparently considering the purchase of a DVD-R. One of the circuit shacks in town has them for sale under $1000 and they're considering the purchase of it. Even though they have no idea what they'd use it for. The paternal unit used his PDA for two months before mothballing it. The maternal unit bought a portable MP3 player to use during her workouts, but still hasn't figured out how to make an MP3 yet. I figure if I talk them into getting the DVD-R, I'll have a new DVD-R in about three months.

My car is again broken. Apparently the throttle cable has stretched. Not a big deal, but I need to get to an auto supply shop to pick up a new one. That's time out of my day I don't want to waste.
